Paying for NHS treatment
There are 3 different bands of NHS treatment.
Band 1: £17.00 This charge includes an examination, diagnosis and preventive advice. If necessary, it also includes X-rays, scale and polish and planning for further treatment.
Band 2: £47.00 This charge includes all the necessary treatment covered by the Band 1 charge, plus additional treatment, such as fillings, root canal treatment or extractions.
Band 3: £204.00 This charge includes all the necessary treatment that is covered by the Band 1 and 2 charges, plus more complex procedures, such as crowns, dentures and bridges.
Your first visit will always begin with an examination of your mouth by your dentist. The cost of this Band 1 treatment is payable on the day of your examination. If you are a new patient to our practice you will be asked for this payment when you book your appointment.
If you require further treatment under Bands 2 and 3 you will be asked to pay the balance of £30.00 before a further appointment is made for you. If the additional treatment is completed at the same time as your examination then the full payment is due. Band 3 treatments can be be paid in stages.
We accept payment by cash, cheque or credit/debit card. We can take card payments over the telephone if this is of help to you.
Please let us know in advance if the cost is a worry to you - we may be able to help.
